Spiced Pear Champagne Cocktail

Ingredients

  • cinnamon sugar mix
  • juice of one lime
  • 1/2 cup pear infused vodka
  • 1/2 cup pear nectar
  • 2 Tbsp Spiced Simple Syrup (recipe follows)
  • Splash of champagne or sparkling wine
  • Simple Syrup
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 tsp juniper berries
  • 2 Tsp cloves
  • 5 whole star anise

Preparation

Step 1

Wet the rim of a champagne glass with lime juice. Dip into cinnamon sugar mix several times to ensure coverage. In a martini shaker filled with ice, combine vodka, nectar and simple syrup. Shake well and strain into a martini glass. Top with champagne.


Simple Syrup
Combine the sugar,water and spices in a pot. Bring up to a simmer, stirring occasionaly until all the sugar has dissolved. Pour the mixture through a strainer and discard the whole spices.
