Janean's Cream Puffs

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • ………………………………
  • Whipped cream (for filling)

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 450*. In small pan, boil water, add margarine and stir until melted. Add flour and salt all at once, stirring until mixed. Cool for 1 minute, then add eggs one at a time and beat well after each addition.

On a greased cookie sheet, drop by 1/4 cup scoop about 2" apart. Bake for 10 minutes at 450*, then 15-20 minutes at 400*. Make a slit in each cream puff to let the steam out. Let cool. Open each cream puff and fill with whipped cream. Yield: 5 cream puffs (Recipe can be double to make 10 cream puffs.)

CHOCOLATE GLAZE:

1 Tablespoon butter and
1 Tablespoon heavy cream
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 teaspoon light corn syrup.

Melt all ingredients together in microwave in 30 second increments until melted and then whisk until smooth. Drizzle over cream puffs.
