Ingredients
- 1 (6 oz. package) bag pecan halves
- 4 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1-1/2 cups packed light brown sugar
- 1/3 cup all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon maple extract
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg

Line large cookie sheet with foil. Reserve 24 pecan halves, chop remaining pecans. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. in 2 quart saucepan over low heat, melt butter or margarine, remove saucepan from heat, stir in brown sugar and remaining ingredients until well blended, stir in pecans. Drop mixture by tablespoonfuls, 3" apart onto cookie sheet, press a reserved pecan half into top of each. Bake 12 minutes. Slide foil with cookies onto wire rack to cool completely.
Meanwhile, reline cookie sheet with foil and repeat with remaining mixture and pecan halves. When cookies are cooled, gently peel away foil. Store cookies in covered container. Makes 2 dozen.
