Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup white sugar *
- 1/2 cup brown sugar *
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 1/2 ripe banana's, mashed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
- *Original recipe calls for 1 cup of white sugar, using half brown and half white yields a darker bread.
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan. In a large bowl cream the butter and sugar(s) until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, sour cream, bananas, and vanilla and mix well. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Add the dry ingredients to the wet and mix well. Stir in the nuts. Pout the batter into the loaf pan. Bake for 55 - 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean.
