"Caramel Crunch Popcorn"
For a fabulous hostess gift, place caramel crunch popcorn in an attractive tin and tie with a pretty ribbon!
- 1 bag microwave popcorn
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 1/4 cup beehive corn syrup
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
Preparation time 15mins
Cooking time 16mins
Preheat oven 200 F.
Place popped popcorn in rossting pan.
In 2 qt saucepan, combine brown sugar, margarine, corn syrup and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture comes to a full boil. Continue boiling without stirring until candy thermometer reaches 238F (115C).
Remove from heat; stir in baking soda. Pour over popcorn, stir until all popcorn is coated.
Bake for 20 minutes, stir. Continue baking for 25 minutes. Remove from oven, immediately place caramel corn on waxed paper, cool completely, Break into pieces. Store in tightly covered container.
