Ingredients
- 1 2/3 flour
- 1/4 cup plus 2tbls sifted powered sugar
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp cream of tartar
- 3/4 c chopped pecans
- 1 1/2 tsp lemon rind
- 2/3 c butter, softened
- 1/2 tsp lemon extract
- Additional powered sugar

Preparation
Step 1
Combine first 6 ingredients in large bowl, stir well.
Add- butter and extract to flour mixture. Knead until mixture is well blended and forms a soft dough.
Shape- dough into 1 inch balls. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 325 for 12 to 14 min or until barely golden. Let cool slightly.
Transfer cookies to wire rack. Sift powered sugar over warm cookies, and let cool completely. Roll cookies in additional powered sugar, if desired. Store cookies in airtight container.
