Tex Mex Appetizer Puffs

Ingredients

  • 1 jalapeno, minced
  • 1/4 cup onion, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound hot fresh sausage
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup cilantro
  • 1/4 cup green onion
  • 1 package puff pastry
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Saute jalapeno, onion, garlic and sausage until thoroughly cooked. Drain on paper towels. Add sausage mixture to cream cheese, cilantro and green onion. Mix well.

Roll out puff pastry on lightly floured board and cut into 4x4 inch squares. Place heaping teaspoon of filling on square, brush edges with egg wash, fold into triangle and crimp with fork to seal. Proceed until all pastry and filling has been used. Place puff on ungreased baking sheet, brush with egg wash and bake until golden brown, about 15 minutes. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
