Stuffed French toas

Ingredients

  • 6 oz of cream cheese softened
  • 3 tbsp Sugar
  • 1/4 ¼ tsp. cinnamon
  • 8 slices of good quality sandwich bread
  • 1 lg. egg
  • 1 c. cold water
  • 1/2 ½ c. all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 4 tbsp. Unsalted butter
  • Maple syrup for serving

Preparation

Step 1

Combine cream cheese, sugar and cinnamon in medium bowl. Spread on 4 bread slices, pressing down gently forming 4 sandwiches.
2. Combine egg, water, flour, and vanilla in shallow pie plate. Melt 2 tbsp. Butter in large nonstick skillet. Cook until deep golden brown on both sides, about 3 minutes per side. Repeat with remaining butter and bread.
3. Cut into triangles and serve.
