Basic Brown Stock Sauce

Ingredients

  • 3 cup chicken or meat stock
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup wine, dry sherry
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 star anise
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1 finger ginger, smashed

Preparation

Step 1

Place all ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil. Cool, then refrigerate.
