Ingredients

    lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut in 1 inch cubes

    small onion, coarsely chopped

    medium green bell pepper, coarsely chopped

  • 1/2

    cup chicken broth

  • 1

    can (14 1/2 oz) red kidney beans, undrained

  • 1

    can (14 1/2 oz) diced tomatoes

    T ground chili powder

  • 1 1/2

    t garlic salt

    t ground cumin

  • 1

    t oregano or cilantro leaves

    t sugar (optional)

Directions

Heat oil in a dutch oven or large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add chicken, onion and bell pepper; saute 8-10 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Simmer 15 minutes. Serving suggestion: serve in a hollowed-out hearth baked bread bowl.
