Green Pepper Steak Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
  • 1 pound beef top sirloin steak
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 T. Worstshire sauce
  • 2 c. beef broth
  • 1 med onion, thinly sliced and separated into rings
  • 2 green peppers, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tomatoes, cut into wedges
  • Hot cooked rice

Preparation

Step 1

Partially freeze beef.
Thinly slice across the grain into bite-size strips and brown in oil.Remove meat and add onion and saute till translucent then add the meat back to the pan and add the soy, worstshire and beef broth. Cook until meat is tender.
Add water and cornstarch Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Add tomatoes; cook just until heated through. Serve over rice. Yield: 4 servings.
