Ingredients
- 1-2 1/2 lb frying chicken
- 1 egg
- 2/3 cup water
- 1/4 cup oil
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp sugar
- 3/4 regular flour
- 1 1/2 cups crisco oil
Preparation
Step 1
Beat together egg, water and 1/4 cup crisco oil, add sugar, salt.
For spicier chicken, add 1 tsp paprika and 1/4 tsp pepper to batter.
Add flour, mix until smooth. Dip chicken or fish, one piece at a time into batter and fry about 23min into an uncovered skillet with 1 1/2 cup crisco oil heated to 360. Turn chicken often for even browning.
