Ingredients
- 2 c. self-rising flour
- 1/3 c. shortening or butter
- 1/8 t. baking soda
- 1/8 t. salt
- 3/4 c. buttermilk
Preparation
Step 1
1. Stir dry ingredients. Mix shortening with dry ingredients to distribute evenly.
2. Pour buttermilk into this and stir enough to make a soft dough.
3. Form into small balls, slightly flattened, and place into baking pan that has some oil on the bottom. Turn over so that both sides are moistened with oil.
4. Bake at 400F until brown.
