Sausage Spinach Loaf

Kim gave me this recipe and I make as an appetizer for my Christmas Party.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 lb. sausage
  • 1 8-ounce package frozen chopped spinach thawed and well-drained
  • 1 16-oz. loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg white, lightly beaten

Preparation

Step 1

Brown sausage and drain well on paper towels. On paper towels, press all the water out of the spinach. Roll out the bread dough into rectangle 15 x 8. Put sausage on, then cheese and spinach. Leave 1" empty around edges. Roll lengthwise and seal edges. Brush seam with egg whites. Bake 350 for 30-35 minutes. Let stand 8-10 minutes before cooking.

NOTE: I usually double this recipe and I mix hot sausage and regular pork sausage.
