Chicken Divan Pot Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg refrigerated Pie crust softened
  • 3 tbs butter
  • 3 tbs flour
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 4 oz (1 cup) shredded american cheese
  • 2 cups frozen, thawed broccoli
  • 2 cups diced chicken

Preparation

Step 1

heat oven to 425 prepare pie crusts as directed for two crust pie using 9 inch pie pan

melt butter in med sauce pan over med heat, stir in flour and pepper cook till smooth and bubbly. Gradually add the broth and milk, stirring constantly, until mixture boils and thickens.

Add cheese stir till melted, stir in chicken and broccoli.
Pour mixture into crust lined pan
top with the second crust seal the edges and flute. Cut small slits in top of crust

bake at 425 for 30 to 35 mins till the crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly.
cover the edges of the crust with foil strips after the first 20 mins to prevent browning
cool 10 min before serving.
