Ingredients

    pounds round steak

  • 1

    (10 ounce) can french onion soup

  • 1

    (14 ounce) can whole tomatoes

  • 1

    green pepper, cut in strips

  • 2

    tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1

    teaspoon pepper

  • 1

    tablespoon cornstarch

  • 1/4

    cup water

  • hot cooked rice or mashed potatoes

Directions

Cut round steak into strips. In skillet, cook beef strips until no longer pink. Add soup and liquid from tomatoes; simmer 30 minutes. Add green peppers; simmer 15 minutes. Cut tomatoes into quarters and add to pot with soy sauce and pepper. In small bowl, combine cornstarch and water; stir into mixture. Heat and stir until mixture boils and thickens. Serve over rice or mashed potatoes
