Cheesy Potatoe Bread

This fragrant cheese bread has just a hint of caraway. It's excellent for sandwiches-or try it toasted, spread with Parmesan-Garlic Butter.

Ingredients
- 1 c. water
- 2/3 c. chopped, peeled potato
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tblsp. margarine or butter
- 4 c. bread flour
- 4 teas. sugar
- 1 teas. onion salt
- 1/2 teas. carawy seed, crushed (optional)
- 1 1/4 teas. active dry yeast or bread machne yeast
Preparation
Step 1
Select loaf size 2 pounds. In a small saucepan combine the water and potato. Bring to boiling ; reduce heat. Cover and simmer about 10 minutes or until potato is very tender. Do not drain. Mash potatoes in the water. Measure potato-water mixture. If necessary, add water to equal 1 c. mixture for the 2 pound loaf; discard amy excess mixture. Cool slightly.
Add the potato mixture and remaining ingreadients to the machine according to the manufacturer's directions. Selct the basic white bread cycle.
