Shepherd's Pie

Ingredients

  • 2 Onions
  • 2 Carrots
  • 1 lb. Porcini button mushrooms
  • 1 Tomato, diced
  • 2 Large Potatoes, cooked and mashed
  • 1 Small can of tomato puree + 1 can of water
  • 1/2 ½ c Marsala wine
  • 2 lbs. 1 lb. each of ground meat, beef or pork +lamb

Preparation

Step 1

1. Sauté onions, carrots, mushroom. Layer in bottom of 9x13 casserole pan.

2. Brown meats, add tomato bits, puree, water, and wine. Simmer until cooks down.

3. Layer meat then mashed potatoes over sautéed vegetables layer. Pull fork through mashed potatoes to create crisscross lines. Dot with butter.

4. Bake 325 degrees for 10 minutes.
