Chocolaty Cream Frosting

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups sifted confectionary sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cups cocoa
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 //4 cup milk

Preparation

Step 1

In large bowl, combine 1 cup confectioners sugar, butter, cocoa, vanilla and salt; beat until creamy. Beat in egg. Alternately blend in remaining confectioner's sugar and milk. Continue beating at medium speed until thick enough to spread (about 2 minutes). Fills and frosts two 8 or 9" cake layers. It makes about 3 cups frosting.
