Ingredients

  • 3 cups thinly sliced onion
  • 1 t. oil
  • 1 3/4 lbs skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • 1 c. ketchup
  • 3 T. cider vinegar
  • 2 T. molasses
  • 1 T. Dijon mustard
  • 1 t. onion powder
  • 1 t. ground cumin
  • 1/2 t. garlic powder
  • 1/2 t. hot sauce

Step 1

Place onion in a 4 qt. slow cooker. Heat a large non-stick skillet, add oil and cook chicken until golden brown. Place chicken in a single layer on top of onion.
Combine ketchup and next 7 ingredients, pour over chicken. Cook on low for 4 hours until chicken is tender and sauce is thick.
Remove from slow cooker. Shred chicken and stir into sauce. Serve on rolls or by itself.
