Ingredients

  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 24-oz. pkg frozen hash browns, thawed
  • 1 10-oz. can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 medium onion, chopped fine
  • 1 6-oz can French fried onions

Step 1

Cook Italian sausage with salt until browned, stirring until finely crumbled. Drain excess fat and transfer to large bowl. Add thawed potatoes, soup, sour cream, cheddar cheese, and onion; mix well. Spread into greased 9x13 baking dish and bake 30 minutes. Top with french fried onions and bake 15 minutes more or until bubbly. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.
