Gouda Cheese Ball

Ingredients

  • Puff Pastry Sheet
  • 2 balls Gouda cheese (about 14 oz. total
  • )handful brown sugar
  • handful chopped pecans
  • egg white

Preparation

Step 1

Thaw pastry sheet. Tax wax off cheese. Place 1 ball of Gouda in middle of sheet. Cut other ball up and arrange around the edges of first ball. Put brown sugar and pecans on top of cheese. Fold pastry sheet around cheese. Pinch seams closed. (Make sure all seams and edges are secure to keep cheese inside when it melts.) Brush with an egg white. Place on a marble square seam side down. Bake on cookie sheet at 350º for 30 minutes. (You can put the ball on oven proof serving dish to bake if desired.) Serve with Breton cracker. (Get cheese and crackers at Jitney Deli.) Best if cooked right at time to serve.
