Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons vegtable oil
- 1 pound beef round steaks, cut into 1/2 inch strips
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon beef base mixed into 1 cup orange juice
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 2 teaspoons fresh orange zest
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 white onion, peeled and sliced in 1/2 inch wide strips
- 1 green bell pepper, cored and sliced in 1/2 inch wide strips
- 1 red bell pepper, cored and sliced in 1/2 inch wide strips
- fresh orange slices, for garnish
Preparation
Step 1
1. Add the sesame and vegetable oil to the pressure cooker and heat on high or "brown" with the lid off.
2. Mix the salt and pepper into the flour and generously coat the beef strips.
3. Place beef strips in pressure cooker and lightly brown on all sides.
4. Add the remaining ingredients, except for the onion, green and red bell peppers and securely lock on the pressure cooker's lid. Set the cooker to high and cook for 8 minutes.
5. Perform a quick release to release the cooker's pressure. Safely remove lid and add the onins and peppers.
6. Securely lock on the pressure cooker's lid and cook on high for an additional 4 minutes.
7. Perform a quick release to release the cooker's pressure. Safely remove lid and serve topped with fresh orange slices.
