Ingredients
- 1 (16.3-ounce) container refrigerated butter-flavored biscuits (8 biscuits)
- 1/4 cup strawberry jam
- 2 cups vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup confectioners' sugar
Preparation
Step 1
Carefully separate each biscuit into 3 layers. Place equal amount of jam in center of half biscuit layers, then top each with remaining biscuit layers. Pinch the edges together to seal well.
In large deep skillet, heat oil over medium-low heat until hot but not smoking. Cook donuts in batches for 4 to 5 minutes, turning to brown on both sides. Drain on paper towel-lined platter. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar and serve warm, or allow to cool completely before serving.
Option:
If you prefer, you can top the donuts with a mixture of granulated sugar and cinnamon instead of the confectioners' sugar.
