Ingredients
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 8-10 drained pineapple slices (one 14-oz. can)
- Maraschino cherries
- 15 1/2 oz. can drained crushed pineapple
- 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
- Pecan halves
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt margarine in 13 x 9 x 2 oblong pan. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over butter.
Arrange pineapple slices over sugar mixture (I use 9).
Decorate with cherries and pecans. Spread drained crushed pineapple over all.
Prepare 1 package of yellow cake mix as directed on package, except I use drained juice off pineapple slices and crushed pineapple for the liquid.
Pour all of the batter over fruit. Bake 45-55 minutes.
Invert over serving plate and leave pan on cake for a few minutes.
