Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 c prepared potato buds
  • 1 1/3 c shortening
  • 1 1/3 c sugar
  • 2 pkts rapid rise yeast
  • 3 c hot water (100*)
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 tsp salt
  • 5 lbs flour(little less)

Preparation

Step 1

Prepare potato buds according to directions on box
Mix in shortening until melted
In large bowl dissolve yeast in water, then add eggs,sugar,salt and potatoes. Add enough flour to form dough. Let stand overnite covered. Punch down if it rises to high.
Seperate dough in 2 sections. Flatten out in shape of rectangle about one half to three quarters of an inch thick. Cut into 2 in squares then form by pinching corners and twisting them keeping other side smooth. Place on greased pan and let rise for 2 hours covered with a damp towel. Bake at 400* for 12-15 mins until golden brown. butter tops of rolls after cooling 10 mins
