Ingredients

- 8 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups half and half
- 1/3 cup maple syrup

- 10-12 slices of bread, 1-inch thick
- 1/2 cup butter

- 2 cups chopped pecans

Preparation
Step 1
Generously butter a 13 x 9 inch casserole dish.
Mix eggs, half and half, maple syrup and sugar in a bowl. Place bread slices in casserole dish and cover with egg mixture.
Cover with plastic wrap and let mixture soak overnight in regfrigerator.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and remove casserole from refrigerator.
Make topping next. Melt butter in a saucepan. Add sugar and maple syrup and cook 1-2 minutes. Stir in pecans. Pour this mixture over the bread and bake for 45-55 minutes.
Let casserole sit for 10 minutes before serving.
