chocolate covered cherry cookies

Ingredients

• 1.1 /2 cups flour
• 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
• 1/4 tsp baking powder
• 1/4 tsp baking soda
• 1/4 tsp salt
• 1/2 cup butter or margarine softened
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 egg
• 1.1 /2 tsp vanilla
• 8 oz (250 ml) jar marashino cherries
• 6 oz (170 g) semisweet chocolate chips
• 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk

Preparation

Step 1

in bowl combine flour cocoa baking powder baking soda and salt
in large bowl with electric mixer beat butter and sugar until fluffy add egg and vanilla beat well
gradually add flour mixture beat until blended
shape dough into 1 inch balls place on ungreased
sheet press down centers
drain cherries reserve juice
in small saucepan melt chocolate chips with condensed milk add 4 tsp cherry juice
spoon 1 tsp icing over cherry
bake 350 f dg about 10 minutes
