- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
- 1 cup red onion, chopped
- 1 lb. mushrooms, coarsely chopped (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground clove
- 1/2 teaspoon allspice
- 1 teaspoon basil
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme
- 1/2 cup dry red wine or beef stock
- 2 tablespoons steak sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire

- 3 cups tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup grated Romano cheese
- 6 cups mashed potatoes
- 4 tablespoons melted butter
- Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Cook meat in a large skillet over medium heat until browned, stirring to crumble meat. Add onion and parsley and continue cooking. Add spices and continue cooking for a total of 5 to 6 minutes over medium-high heat.
Mix in corn, check seasoning and cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Add sauce and cheese and continue cooking 2 to 3 minutes over medium heat.
Spoon the mixture into a two-quart casserole and completely cover with mashed potatoes. (Use a pastry bag for a fancy top.) Sprinkle with paprika and moisten slightly with melted butter. Bake for 45 minutes.
