Easy Drop Donuts

Quick and easy. Light and tasty.

Ingredients

• !/2 stick butter, softened
• 1 c. sugar
• 1 large egg, beaten
• 2 egg yolks, beaten
• 4 c. flour
• 2 tsp baking powder
• 1/2 tsp soda
• 1 tsp nutmeg
• 1/4 tsp salt
• 3/4 c. buttermilk or sour milk

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter and sugar. Stir in eggs, blend. Stir all dry ingredients together in a separate bowl. Add to creamed mixture, alternating with milk or buttermilk.
Stir to mix all ingredients. Heat oil to 375 degrees. Drop spoonfuls of soft dough into hot oil. Fry a few at a time, turn to brown. Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar when cool.
