Sangria

This has been a family Christmas favorite for many years.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole orange
  • 1 whole lemon
  • 1 whole apple
  • 1 whole lime
  • 1/4 cup bar sugar
  • 4 oz plain brandy
  • 4 oz. Cointreau
  • 4 oz Spease apple brandy (or Apple Jack)
  • Quart size (or thereabouts) of red burgundy

Preparation

Step 1

To make bar sugar: Mix equal part s warm water/sugar. Stir to completely dissolve.

Fill large pitcher with Crystal ice cubes.

Slice orange, lemon, and apple. Put in pitcher with ice.

Add brandy, Cointreau, Apple brandy and red wine (use inexpensive wine; everything else makes it taste good!!). Swish around to blend everything together.

Let "marinate" for an hour or longer before drinking. Very, Very good.
