Ingredients

  • For chole:
  • 2 cups chick peas/kabuli chana
  • 1 cup tomato paste
  • 3 medium onions paste
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2 green chilies chopped
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 2 tbsp paste of dry coconut powder(mix some water with coconut powder & grind it in mixer)
  • 4 tsp oil
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala powder
  • 3 tsp of chana masala powder
  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tea bag
  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • Salt to taste
  • For garnishing:
  • Coriander leaves
  • 2 small Onions
  • Lemon
  • For bhature:
  • 2 cups all purpose flour (maida)
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Oil to deep fry bhature
  • Salt to taste

Preparation

Step 1

1. Soak chole overnight in water.

2. Boil chole along with tea bags in pressure cooker till they become soft.

3. Heat the Pan first & put oil in pan.

4. When oil is ready add mustard seeds,cumin seeds.When cumin seeds splutter, add garlic & ginger paste.

5. Add onion paste fry till they turn brown,add chopped green chillis.

6. Add dry coconut powder paste & fry for 5mins.

7. Add tomato paste fry for 5 mins.

8. Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam
masala,chana masala & fry till the oil leaves from the sides.Add salt &
stir.

9. Take out the tea bags, add chole into the pan, stir so that it gets
mixed up well.

10. Add some water cook chole with gravy for 5mins.


Bhature:


1. In a bowl add flour, salt, mix well, add water & make a medium stiff
dough.

2. Rest atleast for 3-4 hours.

3. Make a ball of dove, roll it into thin rounds like puri .

4. Heat oil in a pan & fry the bhatura till gloden brown.

To serve:


1. Garnish the chole with coriander leaves & ring onions, lemon.


2. Serve with hot bhatura.
