Wild Rice Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 cup wild rice
  • 1 lb. bulk pork sausage
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 cup uncooked white rice
  • 2 sticks celery, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 green pepper, chopped
  • 2 carrots, grated
  • 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 cups cream of chicken, mushroom soup
  • 1 cup chicken gumbo soup
  • 2 soup cans water
  • Salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Wash wild rice, bring to a boil in 4 cups of water. Turn off heat, let soak for 1 hour. Brown pork sausage and beef; drain.

In large casserole or roaster combine other ingredients. Add meat and rice. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees or until rice is tender.

May also be cooked in crock pot for 6-8 hours.
