Oven Baked Onion Rirngs

  • Sweet Onions
  • 1 1/4 Cups Corn Flakes
  • 1/2 Cup bread crumbs
  • 1 egg-beaten
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
  • salt and pepper to taste

Step 1

Slice onions fairly thick and seperate the rings

Combine corn flakes and bread crumbs in a food processor and process till small consistency.

Mix egg, buttermilk, flour, and ceyenne. Drop rings into batter and coat thouroughly. Move rings to breadcrumb/corn flake mixture and toss to coat.

Meanwhile, preheat the over to 400 degrees, rack in the middle. Place a large sheet pan into the oven with a coating of oil for 5 minutes.

Place the coated rings onto the pan, they should start sizzling right away. Bake for 16 minutes.

Remove and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
