Hazelnut Balls

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sifted flour
  • 1/2 cup soft butter
  • 1 cup finely chopped hazelnuts or pecans
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • confectioner's sugar

Preparation

Step 1

In a large bowl combine ingredients except confectioner's sugar. With hands,mix until thoroughly blended. Refrigerate dough 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Form dough into 1 1/2 inch balls. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 12 to 15 minutes. or until set but not brown. Let stand 1 minute. Remove to wire rack, cool partially. Rollin confectioner's sugar while still warm; cool completely. Just before serving re-roll in sugar.
