Sweet and Sour Spareribs

Ingredients

  • 6 lbs pork spareribs
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 large onion,chopped
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1/2 cup light molasses
  • juice of 2 lemons
  • 2 tsp garlic powder

Preparation

Step 1

trim excess fat from ribs, sprinkle with salt and pepper. Arrange ribs in large baking pan. Cook at 350degrees for 45 mins. Drain off excess fat ,leave ribs in pan.
In a skillet heat butter and oil, and saute onions,about 5 mins. Stir in remaining ingredients,add salt and pepper. Brush mixture over ribs. Refrigerate overnight.
Bake ribs uncovered in a 350degree oven 1 hour turning occasionally
