Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Ground Ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon Clov0es
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt optional
  • 3/4 cup Margarine
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/4 cup Molasses
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Combine flour, ginger, soda, cinnamon, cloves and salt.

Set aside.

In large bowl, beat butter to soften.

Gradually add 1 cup of sugar and beat until it's fluffy.

Add egg.

Add molasses and beat well.

Stir in dry ingredients. Refrigerate for 1 hour until not soft.

Shape into balls.

Roll in 2Tb of Sugar and place on cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 for 10 minutes OR Bake at 325 for 20 minutes.

Cool.
