Ingredients
- •2 teaspoons olive oil
- •3/4 cup diced bacon
- •1/2 cup chopped onion
- •1/2 cup celery
- •1 1/2 cups peeled and diced Granny Smith apples
- •1/2 cup pecan pieces
- •1/4 cup chopped parsley
- •1/4 cup chopped fresh sage
- •Salt and pepper to taste
- •4 cups cubed day-old bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
- •Creole spice to taste
- •2 cups of chicken stock
Preparation
Step 1
In a large skillet heat oil and cook the bacon until it's crispy, about 4 minutes.
Add onions, celery, apples, pecans, parsley, sage, and cook for 3 minutes.
Season to taste with salt and pepper. Stir in the bread cubes, Creole spice, and chicken stock.
Cook until heated through. Remove from heat and adjust the seasonings.
