Apple-Pecan Dressing

Ingredients

  • •2 teaspoons olive oil
  • •3/4 cup diced bacon
  • •1/2 cup chopped onion
  • •1/2 cup celery
  • •1 1/2 cups peeled and diced Granny Smith apples
  • •1/2 cup pecan pieces
  • •1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • •1/4 cup chopped fresh sage
  • •Salt and pepper to taste
  • •4 cups cubed day-old bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • •Creole spice to taste
  • •2 cups of chicken stock

Preparation

Step 1

In a large skillet heat oil and cook the bacon until it's crispy, about 4 minutes.

Add onions, celery, apples, pecans, parsley, sage, and cook for 3 minutes.

Season to taste with salt and pepper. Stir in the bread cubes, Creole spice, and chicken stock.

Cook until heated through. Remove from heat and adjust the seasonings.
