Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 vanilla bean, split
- 1/2 ½ teaspoon banana extract
- 1 1/2 1 ½ teaspoon aniseed
- 2 ounces candied pineapple (chopped)
- 1 750 milliliter gin
- 2 crops yellow food coloring
Preparation
Step 1
In a small saucepan, combine sugar, 1 12/ cups water, vanilla bean, and aniseed. Bring to a boil. Boil hard for 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in candied pineapple and banana extract. Cool to room temperature. In a large glass container combine sugar mixture and gin; mix well. Stir in a few drops of food coloring. Cover tightly. Store for at least 2 weeks before serving. Strain liqueur.
