APPLE DUMPLINGS (GERALDINE'S)

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 CUPS FLOUR
  • 4 TSP BAKING POWDER
  • 3/4 TSP SALT
  • 1/2 CUP SHORTENING
  • 3/4 CUP MILK
  • SYRUP;
  • 2 CUP SUGAR
  • 1 TSP CINNAMON
  • 1/4 TSP NUTMEG
  • 2 CUP WATER
  • 2 TBL BUTTER

Preparation

Step 1

MIX FLUR AND BAKING POWDER AND SALT TOGETHER, ADD TO THE SHORTENING USING PASTRY BLENDER WORK THE MIXTURE UNTIL FORMS PEA SIZE PIECES.
ADD MILK AND BLEND TOGETHER UNTIL FORMS A BALL PINCH OFF PIECES OF DOUGH LARGE ENOUGH TO FORM INTO A CIRCLE AND PUT 2-3 PIECES OF APPLE IN, AND COVER WITH DOUGH.
PUT IN BAKING DISH AND BAKE AND POUR SYRUP OVER AND BAKE 325 FOR 30 MINUTES. SERVE HOT.
