Chicken: Mom's Chicken and Dumplings

Chicken: Mom's Chicken and Dumplings 0 Picture


  • 1 boiled deboned Chicken
  • Broth from Chicken (abt 6-8 cups)
  • Dumplings
  • 1 cup flour (plus a little extra for rolling)
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 1/2 cup + 2 TBSP milk



Step 1

Shred or cut chicken into pieces and set aside.

Keep broth hot.

Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Stir in oil, egg and milk.

Add enough flour until not sticky

Roll out dough to 1/4" thick and cut into 1" x 1" pieces

Bring Broth to a boil and drop dumplings one by one in. Boil until cooked.
Add chicken and simmer for 15-20 minutes.

add salt and pepper to taste.

(Should be somewhat thick, gravy like. Can add flour to desired thickness)
