Dal Makhani

Ingredients

  • 150 gm whole black urad
  • 50 gm rajma (red kidney beans)
  • 2 grinded green chilli
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp ginger paste
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp dal makhani masala
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp cumin seeds
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • Pinch of hing (asafoetida)
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves chopped
  • Salt to taste

Preparation

Step 1

1. Wash & soak black urad rajma in water overnight.

2. Boil the urad with rajma & simmer until they are cooked, drain off
the water.

3. Heat ghee, add cumin seeds, ginger- garlic paste, green chili &
asafoetida powder, tomato puree & stir.

4. Add cooked dal to tadka & bring it to boil.

5. Mix chili powder, turmeric powder, butter, garam masala & dal makhani
masala.Simmer gently for 30 minutes.

6. Garnish with fresh cream & coriander leaves.

7. Serve hot.
