  • 2 lbs. Ground lean pork
  • 1 lb. Ground lean beef
  • 2 large onions, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 ½ tsp. Poultry seasoning
  • 2 tsp salt
  • ½ to 2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp celery salt
  • ½ tsp ground sage
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 medium potatoes mashed
  • pie crust for two pies



Step 1

Combine pork, beef , onion and garlic in large heated skillet. Cook stirring often until meats lose pink colour. Stir in poultry seasoning, salt, pepper, celery salt, sage and water. Cover. Simmer for 20 minutes. Uncover, simmer for 10 minutes longer. Remove from heat. Stir in mashed potatoes. Cool. Prepare pie crust. Put in 9-inch pie dish, spoon half of the mixture into shell. Cover with pastry. Brush with egg and cut slits in middle. Repeat for second pie. Bake at 425 for 15 minutes then reduce heat to 350 and continue baking for 25 minutes.
