Deep Fried Fish

Ingredients

  • vegetable oil
  • 1 lb. lean fish fillets, about 3/4 inch thick
  • 1/3 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oil (2-3 inches) in deep fryer or Dutch oven to 375. If fish fillets are large, cut into 8 serving pieces. Mix flour, salt and pepper. Coat fish with flour mixture. Dip into eggs, then coat with bread crumbs. Fry a few pieces at a time about 3 minutes or until fish flakes easily with fork and is deep golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
