Ingredients
- 3 potatoes
- 3 tbsp. butter or margarine
- 3 tbsp. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- dash of pepper
- 2 cups scalded milk
- dash of paprika
- grated cheese (optional)

Preparation
Step 1
Wash and peel potatoes; slice thinly. Spread about
1/3 of the slices in a buttered casserole dish. Melt
butter in a saucepan, slowly blend in the flour, salt
and pepper. Gradually add hot milk, stirring constantly,
until thickened. Pour over potatoes. Place another
layer of potatoes. Repeat, then cover with remaining
sauce. Sprinkle with paprika.
Bake, uncovered at 375 degrees for 1 hour or until
potatoes are cooked through. In last few minutes add
shredded cheese. Remove from oven. Allow cheese
to continue melting. Serve.
