Cranberry Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 2 cups soft bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 1 6 oz. can water chestnuts, drained and finely chopped
  • 1 1lb. can jellied cranberry sauce
  • 1 12 oz. bottle chili sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. bottled lemon juice

Preparation

Step 1

Combine bread crumbs, milk, soy sauce, and garlic salt.
Add hamburger and water chestnuts; mix well.
Form mixture into 1" balls; place on cookie sheet.
Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 18 to 20 minutes or until done.
Remove from pan; place on paper towels to absorb fat.
Mix remaining ingredients in large saucepan.
Cook over moderate heat until mixture is smooth and cranberry sauce is melted, stirring frequently.
Heat meatballs in sauce; serve in chafing dish or electric casserole.
Use toothpicks for serving.
