Apple Cake

When we had a surprise event for Bill Smith we brought into Phoenix a favorite teacher and a favorite coach of Bill's. I spent some time with Miss Shields, his teacher. She told me about this delicious Apple Cake recipe she had. When she returned to Missouri, she sent me the recipe.

This is a small cake, and can be doubled for larger groups.

Ingredients

• 3/4 cup Crisco Oil
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 egg
• 1 1/2 cups flour
• 1 tsp soda
• 1/8 tsp salt
• 1/2 tsp cinnamon
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 2 cups chopped apples
• 1/2 cup walnuts

Preparation

Step 1

Mix together first set of ingredients.

Then, fold in apples and walnuts.

Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or less
