The perfect creamy cheese sauce to toss with your favorite pasta. I'll definitely be making this again!

Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons (1/2-stick) butter, melted
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 4 cups heavy cream
- 1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil
- 1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 1/2 teaspoons chicken bouillon powder
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
Preparation
Step 1
Do ahead: Make a roux in a small saucepan by combining the melted butter and the flour. Stir together over low heat until the mixture begins to color just a bit. Set aside.
Heat the cream with the basil, oregano, white pepper, salt, nutmeg and bouillon powder and let it come to a quick boil. Whisk in the roux until it is completely incorporated, lower the heat, and let the mixture thicken, whisking frequently.
Add the parmesan cheese, stirring until it is melted. Make sure it does not stick to the bottom of the pan. You can save this sauce for a later time. Let it cool, then refrigerate it in a covered container. Reheat very gently over low heat while stirring, and let it simmer for a few minutes before tossing with your favorite pasta.
