POPOVERS

Ingredients

  • 1 C flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 1 T melted shortening
  • 1 C milk

Preparation

Step 1

Mix and sift flour and salt. Add milk gradually. Add beaten egg and shortening. Beat batter five minutes with mixer. Pour batter into greased hot iron popover pan or cup cake pan.
Bake in oven at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. Reduce heat to 325 degrees and bake 15 minutes. Do not open oven door for at least the first 15 minutes.
