Makes
In 3 1/2- to 4 1/2-quart slow cooker, mix beef, onion, soups, mushrooms and pepper.
Cover and cook on low heat setting 8 to 10 hours or until beef is very tender.
Stir cream cheese into beef mixture until melted. Stir sour cream into beef mixture. Serve over noodles.
Save time and tears. Use prechopped onions found in the freezer case of your supermarket. Thaw before adding.
I will cook this again but without the noodles, this makes them mealy. I will cook them alone and put this on top ! Also I will add more sour cream and garlic salt.

Made this for the first time and ate it tonight, LOVED IT and so did my picky husband! Cooked it overnight on low, threw it in the fridge this morning, back in the crock pot tonight for 2 hrs on high, added the sour cream/cream cheese (only 6oz). Used beefy mushroom soup and regular cream of mushroom. Also added 2tbs worcestershire. A keeper for sure, can't wait to make it again!
The family loved this and begged me to put into "rotation". Very simple to make. Great for a weeknight supper. I did use lowfat sour cream and wheat egg noodles and no one seemed to notice.
My husband and daughtr loved this and my husband was the "envy of the lunch table" the next day. I thought it was a bit too rich and I only used 3 oz of cream cheese and 6 oz of sour cream. I also added 1 cup of beef broth as it was very thick using both the cream of onion and cream of mushroom. I may try the french onion soup next time. I made this on Sunday for dinner on Monday, my daughter added the sour cream and cream cheese on Monday while I was at work. I found the cream of onion soup @ Walmart (in Tucson, AZ)
RE ypitti: You should be able to find this product in most chain grocery stores. If not, you could replace it with any (10 3/4 oz) can of Cream of Mushroom or Cream of Onion soup. They are usually found in the packaged meal isle near the other soups.
